Cajun Sensation Crispy Chicken Fingers
As a busy mom, I just don't have enough time to run out everytime someone gets a craving for spicy chicken, so I came up with this copy cat recipe.
My kids swear it tastes just like Popeyes famous Cajun inspired chicken.
It's a real family favorite; cooks up in just minutes and is perfect for family gatherings, after school snacks, or even football season and tail-gate parties!
It never fails to get rave reviews!
To prepare this recipe you'll need:
Ingredients:
Vegetable Oil for frying
1/2 cup Milk
1 cup Flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1/4 tsp. paprika
1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. onion powder
2 lbs Chicken Breasts, skinless, boneless, cut into 2 pieces
Cooking Directions:
1. Heat 1 inch of vegetable oil to 350F in a large frying pan.
2. Pour milk in a bowl. In a large ZipLock bag mix together flour, salt, and spices.
3. Dip chicken bits into milk; then place small batches into bag.
Shake well to coat.
3. Carefully place 10-15 chicken uncooked fingers into heated oil and fry chicken turning occasionally, for about 5-6 minutes until crispy golden.
Fry chicken in several small batches to avoid over-crowding.
Drain well. Serve hot with your favorite buttermilk ranch, bleu cheese or BBQ dipping sauce.
